Agency: Trump will not do what voters want in reducing inflation
Nigel Green, CEO of deVere Group, said that part of the reason Trump won the election was due to Americans' dissatisfaction with inflation, but he may not be able to cool down prices as voters expect. Trump's promise to impose tariffs on imported goods may have the opposite effect, as importers may pass on the additional costs to consumers. Green said, "Although the goal is to protect American businesses, the reality is that these tariffs may exacerbate the inflationary pressures that Trump promised to alleviate."
