Report: AI startups raised $11.8 billion in Q3, accounting for 30% of total venture capital
According to data compiled by analysis firm Stocklytics, AI startups have raised $11.8 billion in the past 90 days, accounting for 30% of the total venture capital in Q3 2024.
Despite investors being more cautious about which AI startups to support, their overall interest remains strong, according to analysis by Stocklytics analyst Neil Roarty. "The new funding of $11.8 billion is close to the quarterly data for 2023 and 2024, excluding the absolute record of $29.6 billion in Q2 2024," Roarty said.
Meanwhile, the number of transactions in the quarter fell by 28% year-on-year, from 110 deals in the same period of 2023 to 79 deals. However, Roarty said, "larger deals maintained optimism in the industry."
In addition, overall venture capital activity has also slowed, down 13% year-on-year. (Cointelegraph)
