Nintendo's president stated on Tuesday that the company has confirmed it will not incorporate generative AI technology into its games due to concerns over intellectual property issues. During an investor Q&A session, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said that while generative AI has become increasingly popular, the company currently has no plans to use it in their upcoming games. "We have decades of expertise in creating unique gaming experiences. While we can still adapt flexibly to technological advancements, our goal is to continue providing unique value that cannot be achieved through technology alone." The company has been actively protecting its intellectual property through legal action and has previously sued several entities for unauthorized use of its characters, trademark infringement, and piracy.
