Alejandro Cao de Benos, a Spanish citizen accused of conspiring with Virgil Griffith to violate US sanctions against North Korea, was reportedly arrested on a train to Madrid and unconditionally released after appearing in court on December 1st before a judge of the High Court. It is reported that the extradition process to the United States is still pending, but the United States must formally determine its extradition request and provide documents. Previously, it was reported that Alejandro Cao de Benos was accused by the US Southern District Prosecutor's Office of conspiring to violate the law because he organized a "Pyongyang Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Conference" in North Korea and hired Griffith to provide services during the event.
