Axie Pals is an AI-powered Google Chrome extension that animates Axie NFTs. Via the extension, you can feed, pet and lull your Axies to sleep on-screen, similar to Tamagotchi’s, a phenomenon from the 90’s. Axie Pals are available from today to anyone with an NFT Axie.

Kindred is the third-party team building Axie Pals. Axie has Kindred them as developers due to their previous success in the space. They’ve already created two virtual companion-style games, ‘Meta Pals’ and ‘Flora’, with the former done in collaboration with the Teletubbies IP.

Axie Pals is in an early build stage, meaning features and access are limited. However, the Kindred team plans to introduce more complex actions and features in future Axie Pals releases.

Currently, within the Axie Infinity ecosystem, Axies can battle, breed and even build villages. With the introduction of Axie Pals, they can now live on your web browser in a digital companion setting.

Playing Axie Pals Will Earn You AXP Tokens, Which Can Be Used To Upgrade NFTs

By interacting with the Axie Pals feature, users can earn Axie Experience Points (AXP), which is an off-chain currency for the ecosystem with no monetary value attached to it.

Although AXP has no value, it can be used to upgrade Axie NFTs, which can then be used within the multiple Axie Infinity games. In those games, users can earn the native currency, AXS, which is tradable and has a monetary value attached to it. Therefore, by playing the new Axie Pals companion game and earning AXP, that can in-turn be used to earn more AXS in the wider ecosystem.

AXS is currently trading for around $5.30 with a market cap of over $800 million. During its peak in November 2021, AXS was worth over $150 per token and had a market cap of more than $10 billion, making it the most successful P2E/GameFi project in that period.
