Norwegian Town Electricity Bills Surge $300 Per Household After Bitcoin Mining Ban
Dennis Porter, co-founder of Satoshi Action Fund, said on the X platform that electricity bills rose by $300 per household, an increase of more than 25 percent, after a Norwegian town banned bitcoin mining. A drop in demand for electricity in the area following the ban led to higher electricity costs for remaining customers to make up for the loss of revenue caused by the withdrawal of mining companies. This change has raised concerns about cost-sharing of electricity infrastructure.
