Ubisoft announced that Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka will appear in the paid season passes for the Star Wars Outlaws. Ubisoft revealed that the characters will appear in Story Pack 1 and Story Pack 2, which will be released in the future.
Ubisoft is set to release Star Wars Outlaws on August 30th, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is a single-player, open-world, action-adventure game that allows players to explore and complete missions across planets in the Star Wars universe.
Before the game’s launch, Ubisoft, its developer, revealed that Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka will feature in its paid season pass. It will charge players £95 for the Gold Edition and £115 for the Ultimate Edition passes. The characters will make their appearances in the first two-story pack DLCs.
Ubisoft reveals Star Wars paid season pass details
Ubisoft announced the details of the paid season packs prior to the Star Wars Outlaws on August 30th, 2024. The two season pass edition packs include immediate access to the Vessel Runner Character Pack as a pre-order bonus. The pass also includes the exclusive Jabba’s Gambit mission and cosmetics for the game’s protagonist, outlaw Kay Vess, and his companion Nix.
Lando Calrissian will be the first to appear in the new DLC story titled Story Pack 1, AKA Wild Card. Story pack 1 is set to be released in autumn and will feature additional cosmetic bundles named Hunter’s Legacy and Cartel Ronin that will also be part of the paid season pass. In this story pack, Ubisoft revealed that the plot will center around Kay and her interactions with the Sabacc tournament, where she meets Lando, a notorious gambler.
Ubisoft announced that Hondo Ohnaka’s appearance will come later in another DLC. It revealed that the second story pack, A Pirate’s Fortune, will be released in spring 2025. In that Story Pack, Kay Vess meets the veteran pirate Hondo. The plot revolves around the two, with Ubisoft providing some details in Story Pack 2’s official description. According to the official description, Hondo is on course to settle old scores with a ruthless gang of pirates.
Ubisoft reveals more post-launch details
Ubisoft’s announcement also addressed some fan concerns over the inclusion of Jabba the Hutt, one of the Star Wars franchise’s biggest villains. The announcement stated that Jabba the Hutt will appear in Outlaws’ base game after controversy erupted about the iconic villain being locked behind a paywall. However, despite assurances, players and Star Wars fans continued to voice their concerns after Ubisoft’s reveal.
Players complained about the DLCs locking the iconic characters behind a season pass as is the trend with new games. JoeKoolTV stated that the charges for the DLCs were unwarranted and meant that the game developers wanted to charge players full price for incomplete games.
In the X post, JoeKoolTV said, “If you have to tell us there’s a roadmap before the game even drops, you’re telling us you’re intentionally releasing an unfinished game and charging full price.”
