Philippine Justice Department Charges Two Russian Citizens with Stealing $6.2 Million in XRP from Coins.ph

Odaily News The Department of Justice (DOJ) of the Philippines has charged two Russian nationals with stealing PHP340 million ($6.2 million) worth of XRP from a local cryptocurrency exchange. The suspects allegedly hacked into Coins.ph’s systems to carry out the theft. According to the complaint filed with the Taguig Regional Trial Court, defendants Vladimir Evgenevich Avdeev and Sergey Yaschuck will face charges under Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
