Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s YouTube channel was hijacked to promote a crypto scam
The YouTube channel of the news agency of Seven Network, one of Australia's major broadcasting companies, has been hijacked, and the video shows a deeply fake Elon Musk cryptocurrency scam. 7News' YouTube channel was renamed after the car manufacturer Tesla and displayed a fake video of the company's CEO generated by artificial intelligence, claiming that he was giving away cryptocurrency.
As of the writing of this article, about 150,000 people have watched three fake Musk live broadcasts on the 7News channel. It is currently unclear how many of the viewers are robots, with the aim of increasing ratings.
