The Biden administration rehired its former cryptocurrency adviser Carole House

BlockBeats news, on June 25, according to DL News, the Biden administration announced that Carole House, a key official who advised and co-wrote President Biden's 2022 executive order on cryptocurrencies and digital assets, has returned to the government. House will serve as a special adviser to the White House National Security Council, focusing on "critical infrastructure policy" and cybersecurity. “It’s an honor to serve again in shaping the future of a secure and trusted digital economy,” she said.

House’s return to the White House comes as Biden works to bolster his own credentials in the cryptocurrency space in response to former President Trump’s enthusiastic embrace of the digital asset industry. House most recently served as “executive in residence” at Terranet Ventures, a cryptocurrency-focused venture capital firm. She has extensive government experience, having served as an advisor to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the National Security Council.

Dave Grimaldi, executive vice president of the Blockchain Association, a cryptocurrency lobbying group, described House as a "pragmatic expert" and believed that her pragmatic approach would have a positive impact on the Biden team. Arbitrum core governance staff proposed to enable ARB staking rewards to improve governance security

BlockBeats news, on June 24, according to the Arbitrum governance forum, Tally's core team member Frission proposed to use 50% of the remaining sorter fees in the future to reward ARB token holders who stake and actively delegate their tokens. The proposal focuses on the security of Arbitrum DAO's growing treasury. Based on current prices, the system is expected to provide stakers with an annual return of about 7%.

The proposal states that since only 10% of ARB is actively used for governance and voter participation is declining, the treasury may become a target of potential governance attacks. Frission's proposal aims to incentivize governance participation, enhance the economic security of the DAO and reduce the risk of attacks on the treasury.

It is reported that Snapshot plans to conduct a preliminary vote on the proposal next month. If approved, smart contract development will begin and the final on-chain vote may take place in September. (The Block)
