The European Parliament elections will begin on June 6th and the results will be announced on June 9th. Voting is currently underway and the EU's crypto regulation MiCA is about to take effect. The new parliament is not expected to require any modifications to MiCA in the near future, but it has the power to demand a report from the European Commission on whether modifications are necessary. Robert Kopitsch, Secretary-General of the European Blockchain Association, said that although the vote is taking place at the time of the landmark MiCA legislation for the EU's crypto asset market, the new legislators are unlikely to make any immediate changes. He cited the current stablecoin rules as an example, which will take effect on June 30th.
