Over $473M Worth of Cryptocurrency Lost to Hacks and Rug Pulls in 2024
According to a report by Immunefi, cryptocurrency hacks and rug pulls resulted in the loss of over $473 million across 108 incidents in 2024. In May, $52 million was stolen, with Gala Games and SonneFinance being the main targets. The report highlighted that the DeFi market remained the primary target for hackers, while centralized finance companies did not experience any attacks in 2024. Ethereum was the most targeted cryptocurrency, with 43% of total losses attributed to it.
