Former nChain CEO Sentenced to 10 Months in Prison for Leaking Documents Exposing Craig Wright

On May 24th, former CEO of nChain, Christen Ager-Hanssen, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for leaking and disclosing Craig Wright's documents during a hearing in the UK High Court on May 3rd. The court found that Ager-Hanssen violated multiple court orders, including deleting the leaked documents, disclosing the recipients, and surrendering related devices. The leaked document was the Fairway Brief, which involved Craig Wright's false statement of being Satoshi and accused Calvin Ayre and others of plotting a "criminal conspiracy" to take over nChain's intellectual property at a low price. The court viewed Ager-Hanssen's non-compliance with the orders as an attempt to weaken the authority of the court and nChain's confidentiality request, thus merging the 10-month and 4-month sentences, and he is expected to be released after five months. Ager-Hanssen plans to appeal, and the UK whistleblowers organization Whistleblowers UK supports his appeal, pointing out that UK whistleblower laws are out of touch with justice and have failed to effectively protect whistleblowers.
