Vitalik: Superintelligent AI is very risky
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, said on X platform that my current view is that super-intelligent AI is very risky, and we should not rush to promote it, and should oppose those who try to promote it. Please do not build a 7T server scale. The powerful ecosystem running on consumer hardware in an open model is an important hedge against the highly concentrated value captured by future artificial intelligence, and the reading and mediation of a few central servers that control the majority of human thought. Compared with the arrogance of enterprises and the military, the risk of destruction of such models is much lower. It seems reasonable to divide artificial intelligence into small and large categories, exempt small categories and regulate large categories in principle. Moreover, the scale of 405B is larger than consumer hardware (70B is not; I can run it). But the concern is that many current proposals will eventually slide everything into the big category.
