PANews reported on May 21 that the Bitcoin L2 project Bitlayer announced the first phase of its developer incentive airdrop plan, the Dapp leaderboard competition, which will officially start on May 23. The event will run from May 23 to June 23. In this competition, projects deployed on the Bitlayer mainnet will be allocated $20 million worth of token airdrops based on their ecological contribution. All airdrops will be distributed daily in the form of Bitlayer Gems and can be exchanged for Bitlayer Tokens (BTR) according to the rules after the TGE.

According to the Dapp competition rules, projects can increase their Bitlayer ecological contribution by increasing TVL, enhancing user interaction, increasing the number of active users, and improving their popularity rankings to earn more Bitlayer Gems. Additionally, projects can choose to distribute the airdrop rewards to participating users. If fully distributed, the rewards will be automatically allocated to users after the competition ends. Besides the airdrop rewards, Bitlayer has also set up a $2 million listing fund and a $100 million liquidity fund to fully support ecological projects.

The first phase of the Dapp leaderboard competition is part of Bitlayer's $50 million token developer incentive airdrop plan, Ready Player One. After this competition ends, the remaining token rewards will be distributed through subsequent leaderboard competitions and the Bitlayer Most Valuable Player (MVP) program.
