Polkadot launches asynchronous support to enable parallel transaction verification and block production
The Polkadot ecosystem team has announced the first release of asynchronous support for Polkadot. This enhanced feature is expected to significantly improve the network's scalability, cost, speed, and flexibility, and accelerate the growth of decentralized applications. "Asynchronous backup" has reduced block time by half (from 12 seconds to 6 seconds), achieved parallel transaction verification for block production, and increased the throughput of Polkadot's parachain consensus protocol by 10 times.
