Paradigm: Recommends that the EVM community adopt “gas per second” as a measure of network performance

Paradigm recently suggested that the EVM community adopt "gas per second" as a standard metric, while combining other dimensions of gas pricing to create comprehensive performance standards. The article pointed out that blockchain network performance is usually measured by the "transactions per second" (TPS) metric, but for Ethereum and other EVM blockchains, a more detailed and perhaps more accurate measure would be "gas per second," which reflects the amount of computing work the network can process per second. Gas is the unit of measurement for calculating the computing work required to execute transactions or smart contracts, and it also helps to compare the performance of different EVM-compatible chains. Data shows that currently, the opBNB network (100 mgs/s) is the most powerful network when calculated using the above metrics in the EVM network, while the Ethereum mainnet (1.25 mgs/s) is the worst performing. Reth, created by Paradigm, has reached 100-200 mgas/s (including sender recovery, transaction execution, and computing the trie on each block) during real-time synchronization, and its short-term goal is to reach 1 gigagas/s (10 billion per second). Paradigm also added that as the team advances Reth's development, its scaling plans must strike a balance between scalability and efficiency.
