AI startup Perplexity completed a B round financing of $73.6 million with a valuation of $520 million, led by IVP. A round investors NEA, Elad Gil, Nat Friedman, and Databricks, as well as new investors including Nvidia and Jeff Bezos (through the Bezos Expedition Fund), Balaji Srinivasan, Guillermo Rauch, Austen Allred, participated in this round of financing. Perplexity's total financing has reached $100 million.
Perplexity was founded in 2019. CEO Aravind Srinivas previously interned at DeepMind, Google, and OpenAI before serving as a research scientist at OpenAI. Perplexity CTO Denis Yarats previously worked at Facebook and Microsoft.
With Perplexity's search tool, users can immediately get reliable answers to any question, including full sources and citations. No need to click on different links, compare answers, or endlessly dig for information.
